Emergency Evacuation Procedures
FIRE ALARM:
The highly
sophisticated monitoring system will sound a high pitch, loud alarm to indicate
a fire. This system is monitored by the Front Desk Concierge. A taped recording
will come on automatically on the floor where the fire exists and on both the
floor above the fire and floor below the fire. The taped message will advise you
to use the stairwell and exit the building. Make sure your door is shut when
ever you leave your home. Stairwells are located in the hallways of each floor. These exits are all
designated emergency exits. In the case of fire, DO NOT USE ELEVATORS! Use
stairwells, always going down to a safe floor. DO NOT EXIT TO THE SUN TERRACES!!
During an alarm, the elevator lobby doors will automatically close. Evacuation
routes are posted on these doors. Each floor is equipped with smoke detectors.
Red pull stations are located in the trash room on each floor. Fire
extinguishers are located in the trash room on each floor. Should a significant
amount of smoke build in the hallway, you should get on the floor and crawl
under the smoke to the exit door. ALWAYS REMAIN CALM AND DO NOT PANIC
When the general fire alarm sounds, residents should evacuate the
building by way of stairwells. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS! Residents should
congregate in one general area (safe floor, a floor where the alarm is not
sounding, or the courtyard). The front desk Concierge will take a head count of
residents and staff. Anyone missing will be reported to the Fire Department.
Once the building has been deemed safe, Front Desk Concierge will announce "All
Clear." Each condominium unit is equipped with local alarms that are not monitored, only
the residents will hear the alarm. In the event of fire or possible fire in your
home, please dial 911 and contact the Front Desk Concierge at
404-949-5669 , or sound the general alarm by pulling the RED PULL STATION
located in the hallway next to the stairwell. Proceed with evacuation plan. A
fire extinguisher conveniently located in your home is recommended.
